For years, Apple AAPL +1.50% and Alphabet—the old Google GOOGL -0.22%, which last Augustannounced a corporate restructuring and the forming of an umbrella company calledAlphabet — have been great companies and great investments, handsomely rewardinginvestors who held on to their stocks.
Recently, both stocks have paused, together with the overall market. Valuations have become reasonable, especially for Apple, which recently was trading at a forward PE below 10.
